Walked over from our hotel for brunch. For $8 the buffet was definitely a good bargain. If you think about it, a meal of pancakes or waffles with eggs and bacon would normally cost you $8 or more anyways. But for that price, you can get the entire breakfast bar. I had plenty of fresh fruit (strawberries were excellent), half a waffle, a croissant, corned beef, some bacon and eggs, along with coffee and orange juice (I'm a hungry pregnant gal at the moment, clearly). I was really pleased with the food and service. I definitely recommend it for an easy, comfort food brunch choice for cheap :)

Breakfast buffet on Sunday morning was good. Love the waffle maker. Off season they make your eggs to order. Nothing exceptional but good food and lots of it.

Located across the street from hotels and the ocean, Magnolia is mainly a buffet styled restaurant. In fact there is no mention of a menu, but one is available upon request. Our waitress was very helpful and polite. She was prompt with refills and requests for napkins and the like. The buffet itself is mostly southern soul food. There is a roast carving station, along with some simple seafood such as shrimp. All manner of country vegetables were available, corn, mashed potatoes, Lima beans, green beans, etc. They also have a full salad bar and a very impressive desert bar. Most of the food is pretty good. Nothing is outstanding, but nothing bad either. The soup so the day was oyster, and it was quite good. All in all, a good family meal, but nothing out of this world.

Not good at all! Everything on the buffet was pretty much burned. The place felt dirty too. There was hardly any choices on the buffet. The only meat they had was chicken and the only non fried veggies were string beans. I would have left but was with a large group who insisted on eating here. I don't recommend eating here.

Loved it! Great breakfast choice buffet! Service was excellent. Will return when visiting myrtle beach again!

I enjoyed the fried chicken mac and cheeze stuffing sweet potatoes and black ld peas. The small deserts need a little help though.all and all great buffet.l will deff. Return thanks.

Our hotel offers free breakfast here. The food is always hot and fresh. The staff is very attentive.

For $12.99 it's not a bad deal. The fresh vegetable side of the salad bar was good, but the side with prepared salads looked like it had been there for a while (we were there around 8:30 pm). Most of the buffet was fried. Depending on your attitude that could be a plus or a minus.. The little fried shrimp were really tasty and the kids loved using the ice cream machine at the end of dinner.

My family and I were staying close by at BW Carolinian and decided to try the breakfast buffet. First off it cost us $40 bucks for 4 people with 2 having only water for beverage. Which we wouldn't have minded the $40 had the food been good and plenty. The bar was a joke! Very few items/variety plus crumbley thin bacon, old hard sausage, rancid looking corned beef hash, stale looking french toast sticks and to boot for that price if you want waffles...you have to make your own. Will never go back there unless I hear of major changes!!! Our waitress was nice though. We left feeling hungry still and jilted!

This was the absolute worst meal I've had since I've been here. We opted out of the breakfast buffet because it looked really sad & old. I ordered a western omelet with sausage & my hubby ordered 2eggs over easy with Ham. The sausage in the omelet was old and felt like it sat in grease for hours. The piece of ham was about 3" by 5" & sliced as thin as a piece of bologna but it too looked like it had been sitting for hours... A part of it was hard & old. The portion would have been acceptable if the quality was better but the quality of food was the worst!!! Don't go there, save yourself!!

I have eaten both the Sunday buffet and the regular lunch buffet. The Sunday one is a bit pricier but the are more selections so it is worth the increase. Both buffets several traditional southern food. The items vary but include fried chicken, a type of seafood, and other meats. Veggies include fried okra, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and Mac and cheese. The is a good salad bar and several desserts. If you are looking for good southern food, this is the place to go in Myrtle Beach.

Ugh. Eff this noise, this place is terrible. I've eaten in better cafeterias. Seriously. Terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible. It's conjoined with Anderson's / Hilton Vaca's across the street, which (I assume) is the only reason they're still open. Blech. Will never go back. Don't care that it's nearly free and that Anderson staff push it like Salt 'n' Peppa: just don't.

This place can only be described as eh. Our waitress was kind but very slow, maybe we were used to New York pace but it took longer to pay than it did to eat. There was a broccoli salad that was good at the buffet and so was the croissants but I have to give 2 stars because I found not 1 not 2 but three bone fragments in my chicken salad!! And It was a small portion from the buffet line. Needless to say we did not return the rest of our trip even though we were staying directly across the street.

  • Glenn L.

The place was very busy and I understand why. The food, especially the fried chicken was excellent. Considering the price of other buffets in the area, this one is a great value. When visiting Myrtle Beach in the future, I would definitely stop at this place again. Recommended

  • Julie J.

Not a great selection, particularly for seafood and meats, but reasonable. Service was acceptable but definitely not great. Food was mediocre and below my expectations based on the recommendations from the Hilton Grand Vacation location where we were staying. Price is reasonable but I would not visit again.

I can only give it three stars because nothing "blew me away." Everyone we asked at the hotel (staff) said "magnolias is the best spot to stop." I am honestly not sure why. Buffet style country cooking- Fried chicken, Mac n cheese, popcorn shrimp, beef stew, and then we went on a Sunday afternoon so there were still eggs and what looked to be very unappetizing sausage and bacon. The homemade cucumber, onion, tomato salad was super tasty. The clam chowder was decent. The fired chicken was very tasty. The shrimp were popcorn shrimp, has a very soft texture- microwaved? No, but tasted like it. Desert- strawberry shortcake- strawberries were frozen. Service- was excellent. A wonderful southern accented waitress who refilled my sweet tea about 64 times. Sure, it's a great place if you are hungry and looking for a buffet style- recommend for out of towers to get "a taste of myrtle beach?" Nope.

What you get is what you get for an 8 dollar buffet. Ate there once for breakfast and it was ok...lunch was a little better. Waitresses are nice but are pushy for you to do the buffet. And by pushy we were told "you should just do the buffet, it's fun! And besides our kitchen may not be prepared to make anything off the menu"....lol

  • Marcus L.

Despite the appearance upon entering, which wasn't appealing, we made the mistake of having dinner here. We should have known better Buffet was $12.99 for all 11 and older, half that if younger. Drinks not included. It just wasn't tasty. Not sure why we expected more. Skip this place if you are looking for delicious food. Service was very friendly.

Went here even after reading some pretty bad reviews. We had the buffet ONLY. $12.99 was a great bargain. On top of that we had a coupon from our hotel for $5.00 total order of $25.00 or more. Fried chicken was just ok. Being able to have some of the best fried chicken in the entire country cooked for me at work in a DC Firehouse kinda spoils me. Was hot and not too much breading. So was ok. Mac and Cheese. Warm and cheesy. Not "ghetto" Mac and cheese but damn good Collard greens. Again I am spoiled by some of the best cooks in the country at the firehouse. These greens were cooked/prepared to perfection. They were a little sweet. I like my greens bitter. These were tasty but just sweet. Try them for yourself. Salad bar was good. Fresh veggies. Tomatoes were vine fresh. Looked like the owner or staff even brought in peppers from their own garden. Awesome. Fried fish was very good. I think it was catfish. Again the breading wasn't too heavy. Just good flavor and flaky fish. Vegetable beef soup. I had 4 cups. Fresh tomatoes. Lots of beans and okra. Hearty broth with lots of beef. Nuff Said. Fried Pork Belly. Too salty for me. Great crunch but just too damn salty. I have had better. Stewed tomatoes. I don't eat them. My wife liked them. Take her word for it and don't blame me. Hahaha Popcorn shrimp was just ok. Now to the Roast Turkey and the trimmings. The roast turkey was amazing. On par with my own thanksgiving dinner. Moist. Flavorful. Not salty. It was awesome. Red Mashed potatoes. Phucking awesome. Yes I know. But seriously. They were whipped to a pudding consistency and still had the skins in there. Oh wow. They were great. Homemade turkey gravy had giblets and was hot and flavorful. Not salty. That's important to me. Most people don't understand the difference between being properly seasoned and just adding salt. Stuffing was also homemade and was very good. Had a "crust" on the top. Deserts. The dark chocolate topped banana pudding. BOOM. Yes. That good. Had the blueberry pie with homemade whipped cream on top. Yum! Had the strawberry shortcake cake. Delicious. Had the maple pecan topped pound cake. Very very "maplely". Is that a word? It is now. I didn't have an entire serving of each. Just a bite or two for my "fans" the ice cream (ice milk) was chocolate or vanilla or mix. My 5 year old daughter loved it. Service. We went at 17:15 hours. There were 3 other tables. We sat at a huge booth immediately. Started making salad plates and drinks were dropped off. The drinks were refilled plenty of times. By the time we left the place was packed. The service dipped just a little bit by the end. Possibly understaffed. We still had no complaints. We will definitely go back. FYI. The place was about 64*. It was chilly. For a "fat boy" like me it was fine. For the rest of my party, triathletes and swimmers, it was chilly. Bring a sweatshirt.

The food was good the the stuff was real nice we ate dinner there the chicken was good and the macaroni and cheese was awesome the down side the ice cream Machine was broke and the kids wanted it but other then that a great experience

Excellent country cooking. They even had fat back on the buffet. It don't get no better than that! Staff was constantly cleaning which was really impressive. Buffet stayed well stocked and manager visited us a couple times to make sure everyone was happy.

Omg please do not spend your precious $10 for this food, cuz you probably will get a fresher option in mc Donald's around the corner. The food was absolutely awful. Nothing was good, salad was old (maybe because nobody eats it, but still) the chilly soup was the most tasty thing I had, biscuits are old, mashed potatoes are different colour on top, it is obvious they reuse the unfinished food for the next day... When l was trying to get more food with the same salad plate l have, one of the servers stopped me with a brusque move and grabbed my plate and told me in an angry way to get a new plate. Why? Because of health reasons...?!? Wtf... Whatever. The only nice thing was the young smiling server we had, she was helpful.

Meh... I was working in the Myrtle Beach office and asked the manager, who appeared to be the go-to-guy for lunch recommendations, for a suggestion. When I indubitably assured him that "country style" food (I put it in quotes because, where I'm from, it doesn't need a special designation. It's not "soul food", it's not "Southern food", it's not "country cookin", and doesn't need any other sort of genre to try and church it up. It's what we eat every day, so it's just: food) is my favorite, he adamantly suggested I try Magnolia's and claimed it was the best around. Well... maybe Myrtle Beach is just severely lacking in "country style" buffets. It's not that it was bad, I just wasn't impressed. I can think of a dozen "country style" buffets in South Carolina that I'd much rather dine from. The selection was smaller than I was used to, so I thought maybe this was to allow them to focus on quality, but then most stuff was just ok... And what's up with the minuscule slivers of desert that are pre-portioned? And the old nasty bitty working the cash register, making customers wait to pay so she can turn and holler at waitresses from across the floor...? If that's the best Myrtle has to offer, then I'm sorry for you and what you're missing.

We stayed at the Anderson Ocean Club across from Magnolia, so we chose to eat there out of convenience. We had the lunch buffet. Good price. Excellent service. The food was typical home cooking. Two stand outs were the okra and fried chicken. We got food to go one night. The cheeseburger and grilled cheese both were good. This place isn't a gem, but if you're in the area, I think it's worth it.

A glorified Frisch's buffet... They STRONGLY push you to the buffet, instead of menu options. I had no clue they would cook eggs to order with the buffet until i read another review. The buffet had a decent fruit bar, standard self-serve waffle maker. Food was mostly "OK" but the bacon was barely cooked. Cracked me up that there is butter and jam, but you have to pay $0.99 extra if you want toast. And OJ was $1.99 for a tiny glass. The server recommended we not get it because it was extra... unless we really wanted it and she'd get it for us. PLEASE, NO FAVORS!!! In general, the servers are less than enthusiastic. Clueless and lazy, might be a better description. They have customers because the nearby hotels give vouchers or coupons for discounts. I suspect there aren't a lot of repeat customers. Our server charged us for wrong items, then argued with me about fixing it because it was "the same". It wasn't. Then when she re-rang it, she "forgot" to include the discount for coupons that were attached to the bill. Go to one of the many pancake houses within walking distance. It'll be worth the extra $$.

Good southern food. Not a huge selection on the buffet but enough. The waitress was attentive and the prices were very reasonable! Great for locals in the winter as they have wonderful half price specials.

    (3)
  • Carrie L.

Breakfast buffet for a decent price. Drinks (orange juice) are actually not cheap (in comparison to the food). I love that we can order our eggs freshly made. They also serve scrambled eggs at the buffet but fresh eggs beat that any day! Their grits are great too.

Magnolia's is a top spot on the Grand Strand for business lunches. Since my office is only two blocks away I find myself enjoying their buffet quite often. Everyday you can find good ol' southern comfort foods. From chicken bog, to baked/fried chicken to mac-n-cheese to peach cobbler Magnolia's has somthing for everyone. To top it all off you can get all you can eat buffet and a sweet tea all for $8. You can't find a better deal anywhere.

At the beach, we're always looking for a restaurant that has great food at reasonable prices and MAGNOLIA'S AT 26TH is the place. Recommend by the local newspaper"s "where locals eat", Magnolias has the best buffet, and by that I mean as close to home cooked as you will find. Especially recommend the squash..wow!

    (5)
  • Doug B.

Needed takeout for the family back in the room. Magnolias at 26th was a great fit. My wife loved the Ceasar Salad (added grilled chicked), the kids loved the chicken strips and fries, and my steak was great. The steak dinner includes many sides I wasn't expecting. Service was great and he made sure I had everything I needed to compliment the dinner for my family back in our room. Prices much better than several other venues in the area.

Beleive the bad hype. The breakfast buffet is the equivalent of a bad hotel. Service is ok but don't expect anyone to go out of their way. The food quality is sub par in all respects (bad sausage, hard French toast and limp bacon to name a few).

Staying at the Anderson Ocean Club makes this a convenient spot. They do push the buffet but the farm-fresh vegetables make it worth it to this country boy! Thanksgiving lunch was the buffet but it was loaded! The vegetables, turkey and dressing, and desserts were all good. I would certainly recommend this spot to anyone looking for home cooking at a reasonable price.

Umm.....well, we went for a breakfast buffet. It was included in our stay at the Best Western Plus. I thought that if I was going to pay $200 a night for a hotel room, I"d at least get one that included Wifi and breakfast......turns out, I"d much rather pay another $20 to go to a decent place for breakfast. The place is disgusting inside, and is really like a zoo, with tons of families (including my own) fighting to get to the buffet. I suppose the food is edible, especially if your goal is to consume as much "stuff" as possible for the cheapest price. But the scrambled eggs are runny and without much taste. The belgian waffle comes out looking like a piece of plastic. They charge extra for toast? How random is that? You can also only get one drink, so if you wanted a coke and a coffee, you'd have to pay extra....again, so random. Fellow yelpers, i'd be very wary of the people that gave this place any more than 2 stars. You can get just as filled for relatively the same price at IHOP or Waffle House. This place survives b/c of tourists like me, thinking they are getting a great deal. They don't deserve our business. THM (Take Home Message): A typical tourist trap. Entice you in with a low price, but then also serve you a disgusting assortment of food. Spend a couple extra bucks at a place not right on Ocean BLVD, Magnolia's doesn't deserve your money.

  • John M.

Good little spot for breakfast, lunch and dinner and cheap eats. We ate off the menu, but the buffet was well-stocked and fresh. My family's faves were the chicken fingers with krinkle cut fries, the pancakes and tuna salad made with eggs and a hint of relish.

  • Iowa C.

ok we in Myrtle Beach again, and we went back the first night to Magnolias, little disappointed compared to last year, fried chicken was good, chicken noodle soup good, we did the buffet again, but their huge dessert table was not there, and had only a small selection. The gravy for mashed potatoes tasted from a can. The ice cream was very good, and they desserts they do have are good. Good place still but not at the level it was last year.

    (2)
  • Colleen G.

Food was ok for a buffet and the staff was friendly. However, the restaurant had a bit of a musty smell and there was loud overtly religious music planning. It was a bit creepy.

    (2)

Local tourist trap. My hotel offered a discount for their breakfast, but its not worth it. Bland taste and small selection.

  • Paul Z.

We've made this place a staple for our breakfast for the past 3 years of going to Myrtle Beach. The breakfast and sunday brunch buffet is one of the best we've experienced. I always find it odd when folks come in and look like they think they are too good for the buffet and ask for a menu. It just puzzles me. The waitresses are always nice even though you know they are under alot of pressure, they handle it very well and always make sure your drinks and coffee are topped off. We love this place and we hope it is around for many years to come.

We decided to spend Thanksgiving on the road and the locals recommended Magnolia's as a great place to eat Thanksgiving dinner. It was good for us and the kids. I got packed quick and based on the amount of people who came in...it is pretty popular. My only complaint about it was they didn't have regular gravy, they served a soup type gravy. Yeah, I'm that guy complaining about gravy but come on, Thanksgiving without gravy, real gravy? I little part of me died that day! Nice place...needs update inside though

  • Ram S.

I second many of the other reviewers that this is your basic microwaved fast food breakfast buffet that you get at most 3 star hotels. Our waitress who was honest and told us that the 6 oz glass of juice (which probably is the frozen kind) is $2.99 and there are no refills. Cannot complain as the breakfast buffet is only $8.50 for adults and half price for kids 4 and older. 4 and under is $2. Nothing special to write about other than real cheap and quick meal.

    (2)
  • Wayne M.

We were told that this was great home cooking. It's only great if you love lard. WAY TOO GREASEY a menu. Worst Father's Days meal, ever! Over priced and not good food. They make Golden Corral look like fine dining.

  • Chrissy K.

Went here several times due to the free breakfast coupons from our hotel. Food was ok. Not horrible, not anything to write home about.

    (3)
  • Gabby G.

I would suggest coming here right when they open when the food is fresh. The buffet has all your standard southern food, but I couldn't make myself stomach down even half of it and I love southern food! Won't be coming back here, sorry!

    (1)
  • Michael C.

Rather good breakfast buffet. Eggs cooked to order. I prefer over easy and these were perfect. Sausage patties and links very good. Sausage gravy a little light but good. Biscuits tasty. Good coffee and refills prompt. Bacon just right. The price is reasonable, service courteous. Corned beef hash very good.

  • Marcos A.

The guy that thinks it's nasty very nasty is right. I originally thought 13.99 was a great deal for Steak & Shrimp and then I quickly realized it was the only thing on the menu. We walked in, looked at the menu, looked at the buffet, and walked out. The food was nasty just by looking at it and there is nothing on menu with little explanation. Avoid this place at all costs. Don't even walk in.

This is typical buffet food. Alright but nothing special. I would go back if all other restaurants were closed.

We went for the lunch buffet. When we first walked in I thought it looked iffy. Once we started eating we were happy. Not too many selections, but tasty and the price was good.

After several days & several tries of looking for a breakfast place in myrtle beach... you realize it is difficult, as there are so many places to eat. Each place on the beach seems to have a buffet in the 10 or 12 dollar range for breakfast. They all have the standard fare eggs, sausage, bacon and biscuits, however... this one is not like the other places on the beach. This one is only $7.60 for the breakfast buffet and an added bonus is; it's clean, the food is fresh, and the people waiting on you are friendly. I was there with a party of 10 & a small baby we enjoyed ourselves. The food was fresh and hot. I have not been there for any other meal but I will definitely recommend this place for breakfast.

    (5)
  • John F.

Nasty very nasty I don't know how this place got 4 stars if there was something less than one star this place would deserve it. Worst meal I have had in a city that is full of terrible restaurants. Another thing, South Carolina must have terrible health inspectors because this place got an A and should have failed, nobody should ever have to eat at this place.

  • Troy S.

For a quick bite on the hotel strip. DId not know until we checked out that we had a coupon for two free breakfast buffets for this place. Magnolia's came recommended from the hotel staff. It was not the best buffet I have ever had but for the price, the food was decent and the selection was good. The staff was very nice and was always making sure we were taken care of.

Great breakfast buffet. The food is outstanding

  • Russell G.

Magnolia's is good ol' southern food. Perfectly made and fresh. The fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and mac and cheese were superb. My parents, who are impossible to please most of the time, raved about our visit. They enjoyed the okra and black eyed peas, which my father, who is a cook himself, said was fresh and not canned. Due to its location, I think eating here during the summer months may be a chore due to the crowded boulevard. But I would recommend Magnolia's to anyone.

    (5)
  • Britni T.

I only had the breakfast buffet here, but I was definitely not a fan! Everything was just ok, and the buffet didn't even have pancakes! Maybe the breakfast menu itself is better, but the buffet is definitely not worth it. Go to a local breakfast place instead.

    (2)
  • Dave S.

Magnolia's is good, cheap and pleasant. The food ranges from good to excellent. I'd suggest skipping the fried chicken and going straight to the baked, which is the most delicious I've ever tasted. The dirty rice, the mac and cheese and the collard greens are all very good. If you are in the mood, try the smother pork chops. This is fine country cooking. The deserts are also excellent, so leave some room. At $8 for lunch including the drink, this is both a quick and cheap way to get yourself fed across the street from the beach.

    (4)
  • Paul R.

Magnolia's is your textbook lowcountry cooking buffet: stewed tomatoes, rice, chicken bog, okra, greens, mac-n-cheese, cornbread and all the fried goodies to go with it. The service is prompt and friendly. Their location on Ocean Boulevard almost has a city feel to it with a great peek at the ocean as you walk in the front door. I haven't tried breakfast yet, but the lunch is very good.

  • Nikki B.

We were staying across the street at Anderson Inn and decided to check out this place for breakfast. It wasn't great but it wasn't the worst either. I didn't realize that they had anything other than a buffet for breakfast. When we were seated we weren't given a menu just told that the plates were up by the buffet. Ok. So that is what we had. The buffet was average. They didn't have the biggest variety. I guess I am used to more than just the basics.
